Create a stunning, self-contained fountain effortlessly with the Aquascape Faux Basalt Columns set of three. This collection includes columns in three heights: 24 inches (61 cm), 30 inches (76 cm), and 36 inches (91 cm). Each column replicates the look of genuine basalt, made in the USA from a blend of fiberglass, resin, and natural stone for a realistic and durable water feature.

Unlike heavy, difficult-to-move real basalt, these lightweight faux columns are simple and quick to set up. Each column has a stable base, making it easy to secure with decorative gravel. The included tubing and plumbing fittings fit neatly into the top of the fountain. For added visual appeal, you can add a color-changing or warm white Fountain Light to illuminate the water (sold separately). This set of three columns works well in custom fountain designs or can be paired with the Aquascape AquaBasin® 45 and Ultra 2000 Water Pump for a complete, easy setup.

How are the Faux Basalt Columns made?

These columns are crafted by hand using fiberglass sheets, resin, and stone aggregate.

What if the surface gets damaged or chipped?

Surfaces can be easily repaired with common products, such as:

  • Black shoe polish
  • Permanent marker
  • Outdoor paint (Chocolate brown and Lamp black)

What plumbing options are available?

Each column includes 3/4″ flexible tubing and a small clear fitting. The clear fitting can be replaced with an Aquascape Fountain Light to illuminate the water outlet. For higher flow rates, the column can accommodate 1″ Schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Can I secure the base in public or windy areas?

The columns are built to withstand normal conditions, and gravel usually provides enough stability. However, if needed, the base can be further secured by drilling through the fiberglass base and attaching it to the desired surface with hardware or zip ties.

Can the base be altered for custom uses?

YES! The base can be cut to fit the columns into smaller spaces using a grinder or Sawzall. Always wear proper eye and breathing protection when cutting fiberglass. Note: If parts of the base are removed, ensure the columns are properly supported and secured during installation.
