Create a stunning, contained fountain effortlessly with the Aquascape Faux Basalt Columns set of five. This collection features columns in various heights: 18 inches (46 cm), 24 inches (61 cm), 30 inches (76 cm), 36 inches (91 cm), and 42 inches (107 cm). Each column is crafted to mimic the look of genuine basalt, handmade in the USA using fiberglass, resin, and natural stone for a realistic and long-lasting fountain.

Unlike real basalt, which is heavy and challenging to install, these lightweight faux columns allow for quick and easy setup. Each column has a stable base that can be secured with decorative gravel. The included tubing and plumbing fittings install simply in the recessed area at the top of the fountain. Enhance the water display with an optional color-changing or warm white Fountain Light (available separately). This five-column set is ideal for large custom fountain reservoirs.

How are the Faux Basalt Columns made?

These columns are handmade using fiberglass sheets, resin, and stone aggregate.

What if the surface gets damaged or chipped?

Damaged surfaces can be easily fixed with common products like:

  • Black shoe polish
  • Permanent marker
  • Outdoor paint (Chocolate brown and Lamp black)

What plumbing options are available?

Each column includes 3/4″ flexible tubing and a small clear fitting. This fitting can be replaced with an Aquascape Fountain Light to light up the water outlet. For higher flow rates, the column can fit 1″ Schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Can I secure the base in public or windy areas?

The columns are built to handle typical conditions, and gravel usually provides enough stability. However, for extra security, you can drill through the fiberglass base and attach it to the surface using hardware or zip ties.

Can the base be altered for custom uses?

YES! The base can be cut to fit into smaller spaces using a grinder or Sawzall. Make sure to wear proper eye and breathing protection when cutting fiberglass. Note: If parts of the base are removed, ensure the columns are properly supported and secured during installation.
